Abstract
This paper describes an acoustic telemetry system specified to operate in the 10-13 kHz band with a maximum bandwidth of 3 kHz, for use in communication between offshore oil platforms and theirs wells. The system was implemented for real time operation using two ASPI DSP boards, based on the TMS 320C25 microprocessor. Several real time laboratory experiments were performed in the presence of noise. The preliminary results are satisfactory, indicating the feasibillity of the proposed system for underwater acoustic communication between fixed stations.Downloads
