Experimental Analysis of an All Optical NOT Gate and Latch based on an Externaly Clamped Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

Abstract
An all optical NOT gate is experimentally demonstrated recurring to external gain clamping of a semiconductor optical amplifier. Latch principle is subsequently demonstrated with the aid of a optical ring laser, using of-the-shelf devices.
