Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The URLs and DOIs for the references should be provided.
  • The text formatting follows the rules outlined at Author Guidelines.
  • Authors should use the template for IEEE Transactions.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text appropriately rather than at the end.
  • The submission file is in PDF file format.
  • The pdf file does not exceed 2MB.
  • Has funding support correctly been acknowledged?
  • When submitting the paper, include all the relevant data for the authors, their names, affiliations, contacts, and Orcid ids in the system.
  • The Orcids of all authors should be provided for submission.

Author Guidelines

The JCIS receives contributions in the form of Regular Papers, Letters, and Tutorials.

  • Regular papers should have at least eight (8) pages and present a well-rounded treatment of a specific problem with significant contributions;
  • Letters are short communications of recent results. Letters must also follow the IEEE Transactions template, with a limit of four (4) pages of technical content plus one (1) page only for references.  
  • Tutorial papers should have at least eight (8) pages and are intended to disseminate knowledge of a topic in communications to non-experts readers. 

Responsibility for the content of the papers rests upon the authors only.

The Journal is aimed at an international audience, so submissions must be in English. Authors are asked to submit a PDF (Portable Document Format) electronic paper version through the online submission system.

SBrT is a sister society of IEEE-COMSOC; thus, the contributions must be formatted using the two-column IEEE Transactions Template. Please, include the DOI (digital object identifier) for all references.

Please, note that files cannot exceed 2 Mbytes.
